What an overview of the unknown significance of African Americans in Williamsburg. The presence and contributions of African Americans is explored in detail, with historical data to support their experiences. Trish, our guide, is quite a scholar and narrator of the Black experiences in Colonial Williamsburg ‼️

This walking tour of Williamsburg was excellent! Trish was so knowledgeable about the history of Williamsburg, the buildings, and the people who lived there. We asked lots of questions and she gave thoughtful and complete answers. The tour is carefully thought through to give a true picture of what life was like in the 1700's. Trish is passionate about Williamsburg and it shows. We loved this tour and our appreciation of what a special place Williamsburg is was greatly enhanced because of taking it with her.

We took the African American History Tour and it was absolutely amazing. The tour guide, Trish, is sooo knowledgeable and a great storyteller. She told the truth unapologetically. You will learn things on this tour that should have been taught in school. Be sure to bring a pen and paper to take notes!

Without a doubt, the absolute best tour my wife and I have taken. Trish was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable of the town and it’s history. She didn’t just spew facts from a book, she told a story making the tour very entertaining and enjoyable. My wife and I have travelled frequently and been on many tours, this will be one we will always remember. If you’re looking for a tour that won’t disappoint, this tour should not be missed.

We took a colonial Williamsburg tour with Trish. She was incredibly knowledgeable on all things Williamsburg history. She not only helped its to orient ourselves in history, but showed us around the historic town and gave us great tips and recommendations for the rest of our day. We asked tons of questions, and Trish was great about addressing them all. This was the perfect start to our first visit to Williamsburg and helped us to make the best use of our one day in town!! If you love history and are curious about Williamsburg, I would highly recommend one of Trish’s tours!

Incredible Knowledge of History—the asides will amaze.

The most amazing and informative outdoor walking tour of colonial Williamsburg. Trish Thomas has got to be the most knowledgeable historian that walks the streets of Colonial Williamsburg. What will be the most memorable part of your tour is the drama that existed in the times peppered nicely with the history. The question comes first to lure you in, then the history and then the intriguing twist at the end to leave you prompts in your head to easily recall the history. Her husband, David, called us 15 minutes before the tour to make sure we were on our way and knew where to park. Trish was standing right where David said she would be. Just an amazing experience—class act.
